Meet the Worker Bees

Scott Mele

I was born and raised in California where my love for athletics began. During high school, I played football and sprinted for the track and field team. I loved being on a team and pushing myself to be a better athlete.

In 2011, I graduated and continued my education at Whittier College. While attending school, I sprinted for the Whittier track and field team, spending most of my weekends training and encouraging my teammates. In 2015, I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences.

My ultimate goal as a trainer is to provide my clients with the tools and information to make them successful throughout daily activities. Learning functional movements and strength exercises will help combat poor posture and stress. I have worked with clients with little to no experience, clients that have been training for years and athletes.

My athletic background, as well as my degree and certifications, have given me the knowledge and experience to mold exercise plans to fit my client’s wants and needs. If you are looking for correctional exercise, weight loss, sports performance, youth fitness, or overall health, you will not find anyone more passionate.

CARLIN MELE

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, athletics were my escape growing up. I played field hockey, squash, and lacrosse after school and on weekends.

I then moved to California to attend Whittier College, where I continued to play lacrosse but mostly spent my weekends cheering on Scott as he sprinted around the track. During college, my interests expanded from music to anthropology. I participated in two study abroad programs: one in South Africa focused on animal conservation and another in Peru, where I took part in an archaeological dig.

Throughout my career, I’ve held various roles, including Assistant, Manager, Project Manager, Teacher, and now Business Owner. I’m excited to share my passion for athletics, fitness, and community. My vision for The Hive is to create a space where today’s youth can develop a healthy relationship with fitness while also fostering a team spirit that actively gives back to the community.
